Gussied up!

So, on Sunday a good friend of mine was having a celebration for turning 40 and she invited me and 8 other friends along to a fancy pants outing.  We were going to super posh Gleneagles, home of golfers and all that jazz and I knew this called for fancyness of the highest order.  Rooted around the wardrobe and unearthed this beauty from a few years ago from Igigi - I love their dresses and have several, they hang beautifully and are always a wee bit different from anything anyone else has on which I love.  They're American so ordering can be a pain but you can occasionally pick up an eBay bargain or shop in the UK at Curvety.

Igigi dress with jacket

Without jacket, I love that the sleeves cover a wee bit of arm without being too long (Betsy the cat clearly loves this too as you can see by her winding herself around my leg!)

Close up of necklace!

All moody and sepia tinted, ooh

I went bare legged and wore my trusty M&S insolia court shoes because they're so comfy I can wear them all day long.  I'm also sporting a new necklace purchase from Wallis which I found massively reduced in a local branch, I love it because the colours are beautiful and it's just really pretty - I've done a close up to prove it!

The jacket scenario is courtesy of Asda from ages ago, this wee lovely goes with everything and produces a waist where there is not one naturally, I love it.

The afternoon was lovely and prosecco fuelled, resulting in fountain photos and a very bumpy minibus ride home with some poorly feeling members of the party.  Also, saw a future purchase in the Mappin and Webb concession at Gleneagles, lovely diamond necklace at a bargainous £40,000 - think I might have two.

OOTD Outfit of the Day - my first one

So, it's a windy one here today with sunshine but not all that warm so layers have been key.  Just a standard day kicking about with the kids - toddler group, park and supermarket trek. Shoes are from  Primark, jeans from a visit to America last year and from Lane Bryant, top is bespoke at Simply Be and cardigan from Evans - sunglasses are the obligatory ray bans which will appear in most sunny day posts!

It's the new black you know

What's on my mind today?
Orange shoes, that's what! Got these wee beauties through the post courtesy of eBay today - wee bit nippit (tight) but so shiny and pretty. I am coveting all things orange at the moment (it's the new black don't you know) and these are giving me my prescribed dose of vitamin c for today....

These are from Dune, I've been looking for orange shoes for ages and found these on eBay - there are similar in suede on the M&S site but I have trouble with shoes being wide enough for my gargantuan feet (they're an eight and wide as boats) so have some stretchers and will get them to work on these babies - happily skipping off to the park in them with the kids now, yay!

Blogging for beginners

Hello and welcome to my first blog.....

I'd like to start by telling you a little about me - I'm a 42 year old, Scottish, curly haired, plus sized lady with two kids, a husband and two murderous, rampaging moggies.

Recently, I've noticed that my biggest hobby is shopping for clothes - I spend hours trawling the web for that perfect outfit or an amazing necklace to top off that dress I love or just want to try something totally new.  It's become a bit of a talking point amongst my friends and a couple have suggested that (since I know everything that's available in every shop online) I blog about my habit/addiction.

So.... my plan is that my blog will cover everything from plus sized clothing to make up/hair things I'm loving or coveting at any one time - my capacity to devour magazines, the sidebar of shame on a certain website and any other fashion related things is infinite but I promise to edit and share the most interesting bits.

So that's me - I'll blog as regularly as life will allow, please let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see me talking about.

I'm totally new to this so any feedback would be massively welcome, I'd love to hear from you!!

Thanks
Cat xxxx
